Hey! Welcome to the Friends of a Feather podcast! I'm your host, Wren! As women, we need to build each other up, to encourage each other in our walks with Jesus. Each week, I get to chat with a friend who has a story to tell, a passion to share, or a dream she is pursuing. Be encouraged! We are all friends of a feather; let's stick together!

Stephanie is a pastor’s wife, mom to two college girls and a son in kindergarten.  She is the Director of North star Academy, an online accredited private Christian school for 4th-12th graders.

Today, Stephanie shares with us how she walked through a severe depression a few years ago and how God is faithful in our times of struggle.

She says, “God prepares the way. He knows exactly what’s going to happen, what’s in your heart and mind, and what you are going to need in the moment.”

What is unique about this episode is that Stephanie has not shared this part of her story on a podcast before.  There is a lot of stigma and shame surrounding depression in the Christian community and especially as a Pastor’s wife.  I’m grateful to Stephanie for  being vulnerable in sharing in order to provide encouragement to us.

This is part one with Stephanie and part two will be on her podcast called The Northstar Narrative where I had the opportunity to share how faithful God is in all of our stories.

This is episode 153, with one of the gals from the Christian musical group, Point of Grace!

Denise Jones is a wife, mom to two adult sons, an empty nester, and singer in the highly popular music group, Point of Grace.

Today, Denise shares with us how Point of Grace started, where they got their name from, surprising things she learned about her friends in the group, Shelley and Leigh.

She gives great advice for us when we struggle with quiet insecurities that no one knows about.  Denise and I talk about a struggle she had about 10 years ago of comparing herself to others and struggling with insecurity.

And, if you want to hear Denise’s favorite Point of Grace song AND hear her sing it, listen in!!

This is episode 152, with my internet friend, Jessica Epp!

Jessica Epp is a wife, mom to two girls and two boys, a creative, and a small business owner of an earring and top boutique, called Epp & Co.

Today, she shares how the rug was pulled out from under her in finding out her husband had an inappropriate relationship outside of their marriage 2 ½ years ago. We talk about a divine appointment at the entrance of Target that she will never forget. And, the advice that Jess gives to you if you are walking through something hard is worth your listening to the whole episode. Period.

When we started recording this episode, Jessica’s first words were “It was never the story I wanted.”

But, you will be SO SO encouraged because she also said “God is a God that is near.” She encourages us in how she found Joy during that time and how God showed beauty out of the ruins in a unique way.

Jessica is so loveable and you will be encouraged in hearing her God story!  So, here is my conversation with Jessica Epp!
