Hey! Welcome to the Friends of a Feather podcast! I'm your host, Wren! As women, we need to build each other up, to encourage each other in our walks with Jesus. Each week, I get to chat with a friend who has a story to tell, a passion to share, or a dream she is pursuing. Be encouraged! We are all friends of a feather; let's stick together!

You will hear Jamie’s story of unhappiness as a child, becoming a mother as a teenager, and then finding herself in an abusive marriage. You will hear how Chris and Jamie met and more!

They have been through moves, loss, struggles with health, and the normal everyday challenges that life brings but what you will hear from them today is HOPE.  The Hope that comes through Jesus and they are here to help us to enjoy the journey through Expedition Marriage!

This is episode 150 with my friend, Angie Childers.

Angie is a wife, mom to three, and a family physician.

Today, Angie shares her story of when a little over five years ago, she and her husband, Eddie heard the news they were going to be the parents of a baby boy with Down Syndrome.  Angie shares the emotions that were whirling inside of her as she heard from her doctor who was also a friend and collegue.

Hey Feathered Friends!

This is episode 148 with my guest Emily Kacyvenski!

Emily is a mom, teacher, and friend.  She started following Jesus as a 21 year old, got married, and adopted her daughter MJ when she was a little over a year old.

Emily has walked through a heartbreaking time when her husband decided that he did not want to be married anymore.  Emily attributes the grace of God for meeting her right where she was….she said, “I was in such a state of desperation and God allowed me to see He was the only way I was going to get through this.”

I can’t wait for you to hear from Emily.  We also talk about having and being a mentor, unexpected plans and being a single mom.  Find out the two things Emily’s mentor said for her to do that were game changers, ya’ll.  And you can integrate into your life today no matter if you are a mom or not.

If you enjoyed listening, I would love for you to send the episode to a friend!

Chrystal is an energetic, life-loving “girl-next-door” who loves encouraging others to fulfill their potential in Christ. With humor and vulnerability, Chrystal tells it like it is but does so with grace, integrity, and love. Chrystal is a wife, mother of five and grandmother of three. She is also a speaker and the best-selling author of She’s Still There and Kingdom Woman and the newly released, The 28-Day Prayer Journey.

We talk how Chrystal has walked through grief losing her mother recently, how spiritual and physical nourishment are similar. Chrystal also shares her story of walking through shame as a single mother but being loved on by people surrounding her during that time. You will also hear a practical reminder of how to pray continually. That’s all coming up in this episode, so let’s get to it. Here is my conversation with Chrystal Evans Hurst!
